True about Warren, my gov, but Ike considerd him to be the worst appointment he made, I believe.Mostly it was a white bread world. Anyway,... I remember listening to Ike's name being put into nomination, as we cruised Bakersfield looking at all the damage from the big quake we had just had. Mostly I remember the sounds of "Cassions Go Rolling Along". I "campaigned" for Ike in '52; we would link arms and run across the playground at the Stevenson kids, who had linked arms and were running at ...well, Nader wasn't running and Stasssen was out, so figure it out for yers elf. By '56,. I was doing precinct work , real campaign stuff, for Stevenson. I learned a lot in 4th and 5th grade. I think Ike was generally considered a light weight who was just sort of there. I keep uping my opinion of him as the years go by. "Beware the MIC" is right up there with Washington's "Avoid foreign entanglements". It's too bad we didn't follow his advice. WR
