Gemstar, Pioneer sign deal, resolve litigation Friday February 27, 8:51 am ET NEW YORK, Feb 27 (Reuters) - Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. (NasdaqNM:GMST - News) said on Friday it signed a multiyear deal to license its on-screen TV listing technology to Pioneer Corp. (Tokyo:6773.T - News) for its digital televisions and recorders in North America, Japan and Europe. The deal, which includes a one-time $14 million payment and resolves all outstanding litigation between the companies, also allows Pioneer to incorporate Gemstar-TV's technology into its digital cable products in North America.
