I don't think your observation is isolated. I think the market is thinking "stocks are highly valued overall, where is the growth going to come from that will keep the prices up here or will lead to greater appreciation in the future". The risk factors have shifted. If you own a stock that has low or marginal growth, it is being perceived as a risk. If you have a stock that will participate in the world-wide market and technological expansion, then you have the potential for great future appreciation. It's still going to be a stock pickers market, but in general, the high techs should do extremely well over the next couple of years.
