I've found that, too. SI reads < and > as html, and when you go back to edit a note, everything in html becomes hidden. I once posted a long formula in a long note and then edited the note. Without my realizing it, the formula was reduced to one short line. Still, someone wrote back saying what a great formula it was. Just goes to show the power of editing.
