i will only believe that the economy is improving when I see the orders for high tech equipment such as those from Novellus, Applied Material start to increase, when the BB ratio of the semiconductor industry exceeds 1 and most of all jobs figures start to improve.

I wouldn't be impressed if GE reports that their spending has increased by say 5 million dollars when that amount was used for hiring 50 people in India who produced goods which boosted GE's corporate earnings. You think that is of any value to the American voter? If yes, then explain how?
