Tenchusatsu, RE: "Note that he said, "university leftists"

The sweeping phrase, "university leftists" is a generalized biased statement.

If a person instead made the comment specific to several individuals, or if a person made the comment specific to policy, this shifts the statement from a generalization into a specific.

Do not confuse this particular Republican author's blanket statement made against liberals, with the opinions of Jewish people.

RE: "Note that he said "university leftists," which doesn't necessarily mean all "university folks.""

You think it's okay to be biased against leftists? Did it ever occur to you to look at Arnold as a role model on one item: he is Republican, yet appears to have the ability to respect Democrats and (so far) not make blanket statements against Democrats. (Of course, don't know how he is in other areas of his life so this may not be the best example.)

There are ways to express an opinion without biased generalization.
