Steve, Social Security has been known to be going broke for years. To the extent any politician denied that - left or right - they are liars. The criticism I have of the left on Social Security is that they have used it as a fear tactic to intimidate any intelligent discussion of the issue - ie - the third rail of American polilitics. To the extent you guys have used the issue to scare seniors you should be ashamed of yourselves. To the extent Republicans have allowed intimidation to rule the issue - shame on them. The real culprits have to be the media who portray the issue in manner that supports your fear/scare approach. Bob
