Ted, I just saw "Passion," and it blew me away. No other way to describe it. There are very good reasons why Jesus' last 24 hours of his earthly life are depicted in such a slow-motion, violent manner.

Of course, I understand why critics might see this film as "too violent," since for a while I too wondered why every inch of Jesus' body had to be laced with cuts and whipmarks. And then my wife pointed it out, that if you imagine every cut to be representative of one of my sins, then there's no way Jesus can have even one square inch of uninjured flesh. That's when it hit me, especially as I too often take my faith in Jesus for granted.

No conspiracy theories, no finger-pointing, and no blaming of modern-day secularism. If you don't understand, you don't understand. But I understand, and I am humbled. But even if you don't, I still recommend watching this movie. At the very least, you should be able to pick up the love and the strength of Jesus throughout his violent ordeal, and how he willingly went through all of that for the sake of humanity.

Oh by the way, they also portrayed Satan very well in that movie as well. Must have been fun for the actor to play him ... ;-)
