Nothing wrong with moral decency. We ought to have TV that families can watch. But who'd a thunk you'd need the v-chip to watch the Super Bowl?

I think that this slide into indecent exposure on television is boring. I liked it better when things were a little less explicit. Once you're naked...well you're naked, and the story is over. The best authors run out of pages before the whole story is told.

But calling for religious artifacts to be installed in public places, or prayer to be required in public schools is not in accordance with the law.

Read it Zell says "Congress shall make no law respecting an
establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

By requiring the artifact or prayer of one religion to be displayed or read in a public place, one would be prohibiting the free exercise of another religion. Since we can't have artifacts from every religion and prayers for every religion, it's best to leave these things to people's place of worship, where congress has no business interfering with them there.

We don't need a constitutional amendment prohibiting gays from marriage. That's a red herring. Even Bush has called for allowing Civil Unions. Most prominent republicans have said this is a states issue. This whole amendment business is pure politics by Bush. This will end up costing the US tax payer millions of dollars, and the amendment will never pass.

What ever happened to less government? Or is it less government except when legislating morality?

Even God gave man free will. Now the republicans want to legislate that away too.
