I'd like to hear their answer myself, quite frankly.

In terms of the post-traumatic stress suffered by so many of the returning vets of that war, it has long been accepted therapeutic practice to remember the events as they were, to sit with them, not to cover up or repress, not to forget. Only by doing this can the effects of PTSD be lessened and lived with.

I know vets who are asking the same questions you are about Kerry's testimony. What was Kerry supposed to do, lie? Cover up? Since when is telling the truth about the horror of war wrong? If, as unclewest has reminded us yet again, no veteran likes war, then why insist they paint it with a rosey brush? It makes no sense to me.
