re: Deficit of Decency in America:

Amen. I agree 100%. There is an immense deficit in decency, in America. And it's all because people don't take the Bible literally, and don't do exactly what God plainly says to do.

For instance, God said:

"Thou Shalt Not Kill."

But all those pseudo-Christians, Moral Relativists, Creative Re-Interpreters, think that God couldn't have really meant it quite like that. Not exactly. Not totally.

They read the above, and decide that what God really meant to say was:

"Thou shalt not kill,
except if the government says it's OK,
except for criminals convicted of really nasty crimes,
except if someone is trying to kill me,
or attack my nation,
or I think they are about to attack my nation,
or might attack us......someday,
or the Bad Guys have intentions of doing WMD-related program activities.....
and it's OK to kill while doing God's work
(defeating those Others who may look human but are really Devils)
and it's OK to kill in any cause, for any end, that I am told is Good, or at least a Lesser Evil.
And it's OK to make war,
as long as I always convince myself it's a defensive war,
and that I am the aggrieved party,
and keep telling myself that the ultimate goal is peace,
and that the killing I do today is a Necessary Evil
in the latest War To End All Wars And Make Eternal Peace;
except when.....
except if.....
except to...."
