Oh dear. I'm sitting here chuckling, because I'm starting to wonder just who you are having this debate with, me or my other unknown multiple personalities who have apparently made statements or asked you questions that I haven't.
Do you believe that this patriotic war hero, who knew whereof he spoke, should not have done all he could to address the problems he, as a patriot, felt should be addressed? Would he have been a "better" man, had he done that?
What a lovely rhetorical question. Are you planning to testify somewhere too?
As to the "effect" of the antiwar activities of this hero patriot, Gina, well, your interest in discussing that, given that it was 30+ years ago and unknowable, is surprising to me.
Why? It's common knowledge that some POWs say that Kerry's Senate testimony was thrown in their faces by the VietCong. Caused a lot of bitterness. Maybe not on the level of Jane Fonda's visit to Hanoi, but OTOH, Jane wasn't a vet. [Edit: and if you start to see stories from former POWs on the subject, don't be surprised.]
I wonder if there's some reason you aren't expressing that you'd like to talk about "the effect"?
Ah, psychoanalysis too, huh? You are soooo versatile.
Should this have been kept secret?
OK, which one of you MPs said Vietnam War atrocities should be kept secret? Who? Whoooooooooooooooo(thunk) |
