<<We will NOT like another ice age. So we need to hold them at bay. The best way to do that is to keep the place warm so snow cover can't extend, reflecting heat and causing runaway cooling. Nature is a mindless, indifferent beast,...>>

Uh... Mq?

Have you considered the possibility that your CO2 "pump" will melt enough of your remaining ice cap to flood the oceans with sufficient fresh waters to cap off the deep ocean currents and thus prevent their ability to circulate warm equatorial waters towards the poles and vice versa? ...Assuming of course that you haven't already passed the point of no return. <Hoo><Haa>

I suspect you may be too far removed from your jungle roots to recall that Nature is anything but "mindless and indifferent."

Oh She is a beastly "beast" all right. ...But but make no mistake. She is out to get you and your methane belching machinations that have interfered with Her Elegant Evolutionary Designs for about 5000 years too many.

Frankly it matters little whether you shut off your "pump" or even reverse it, for She has many alternative plans for dealing with you. I suspect that, when all is said and done, you will either end up under a mountain of ice or flash frozen in some desperate, yet illfated, attempt to find sanctuary among Her stars. <vbg>

...Were I you, I'd spend my time looking for a methane additive that could keep the old ticker pumping through a loooooooong winter night. <Hoo?><Hoo?>
