And it's all because people don't take the Bible literally, and don't do exactly what God plainly says to do.
For instance, God said:
Why do you care what this says, you have already informed us that you take very little stock in the writings of the Old Testament, right?
Thou shalt not kill....
kill what? turnip greens? chickens? deer?
he about you shall not murder...
How about the man that is going to tie you up, rape you wife and slit your son's throat while you watch...would you try to kill him before he did that to your family?
.............the very God you quote as saying Thou shall not murder....also says thou shall not lay with a man. I guess that is the part you conveniently forget.
You dismiss Paul...well how about Peter, do you dismiss him too, as Peter writes: if he[God] condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)--
filthy lives of lawless men....and these are the same you say were destroyed because of hospitality??? NOT!
do you also dismiss Jesus:
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. "Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.
