Zo RE...Well, why was Hastert trying to stop the commission?

I assume, you are implying that whatever Hastert did, it was prompted by GW. The lefties version of assassination by association. GW is rep. and so is Hastert, therefore it is obvious etc. To which, I must say, not so fast. You are assuming facts not in evidence. If you have qualms about Hastert's actions, ask him, or berate him about them, not GW, unless you can prove the connection.

Both parties are playing partisan politics, no doubt.

True, and while it seems to be getting worse, the charges of "partisian politics" are also, getting as overused, as the charges of "racism" were.
