Not that god participates in the universe, but history. As I understand you, you are saying that the historical side is irrelevant, not important to any of this. It is not important or relevant whether anything actually happened. The values, myths, and ideas stand or fall, reincarnate, re-cycle on their own merit. This is a different belief than Christianity, is all I am saying. You consider this understanding of Jesus to be "stuck." Historicity is a significant category to Christians. The good, noble, lofty ideas are well and good, and we should follow them to the benefit of all. But that is not the only point of Christianity. Those ideals are considered "fruits," or more a by-product, perhaps, of things which actually happened. I don't think I am saying anything that takes anything away from Hinduism. I am only taking on criticisms of my understanding of the Jesus story and how it came to be.
