Sig, Hi!! RE: So what is the friendly mayor of New Paltz up to tomorrow? " Do you, Bubba, hereby take Billy Joe as..............." This past weekend I was in Buffalo for the NYState Wrestling Championships...When this hit the news (NYTimes, CNN, Fox, etc.) I couldn't go anywhere without someone reminding me that New Paltz was "famous"... :o) Jason West was "elected" as a member of the Green Party...He "achieved" this position because it pays next to nothing...And, the other two candidates (Democrats) split the vote...He went to the college and recruited voters (don't even live here year round nor do they pay taxes)...Jason then campaigned by seeking out the left over Woodstock I and Woodstock II renters who "aren't happy with their rent"...So, it's rather easy to understand how this "part time housepainter" was elected... Now, he's obviously looking for further "recognition"... Best, Kemble
