Calpine forecasts higher revenues in 2004
Thursday February 26, 1:10 pm ET

NEW YORK, Feb 26 (Reuters) - Independent power producer Calpine Corp. (NYSE:CPN - News) on Thursday said it expected revenues to jump to more than $11 billion this year, boosted by bringing another eight projects on line.
On a conference call, the company also said it would probably hit the road in mid-June to refinance debt maturing in November for its Calpine Generating Co. LLC unit. On Tuesday, the company canceled a $2.3 billion debt refinancing plan citing market conditions.

Calpine, which earlier on Thursday posted a quarterly profit boosted by one-time gains, said it expected to report revenues of about $11.6 billion and gross profit of $925 million in 2004.
