There are opinions and there are opinions galore and there are haqihana's opinions! So what else is new? I suppose you believe, or like to believe, that your opinions represent the absolute truth, eh? eh? eh? I guess I don't have to apply for permission to use eh as I am posting in cyber space, eh?
You said I ridiculed the covert action of the US. Well, that is just your perception. Of course, on SI, as I have said umpteen times before, perception = reality, given the ego, self-importance and pig- and/or bull-headedness and sheer ignorance of certain individual posters here. <VBG>
If I had wanted to rile folks like you, I would have posted one or more reports that document classic examples of Soviet covert action that scored heavily against the US. Instead, I posted a tellingly successful US covert action.
BTW, the ex-Soviets were successful in East Berlin because they had the support of the East German Stasi and the unwitting "support" of the US. Mind you, their sector of East Berlin was a just one of several minor enclaves.
You attributed the longevity of the Berlin Wall as a testimony of Soviet might. Yes and no! The US were concerned of repercussions in case they attempted to bring down the wall. This supported my thesis of US morbid fear and concerns. To be charitable, let me say the US chose to bide their time until their covert actions had gained momentum from within East Germany.
