I didn't say we need European socialism. But we certainly shouldn't demonize socialism. Some socialism is good. I am for an efficient compromise. Most Americans agree. Most Americans do not want to give away our national wealth to corporations or pay 20% profits to HMO's for their health care and 50% more to the big Pharmas.

If you trust corporations over government, that's your opinion, but most of the time corporations are more likely to gouge and rip off than the government. There is certainly no equivalent in the government to Enron, Worldcom, Halliburton, Tyco and the S+L's. The problem within the government is political, when lobbyists pay off politicians to let them re-write the rules so they can profit more. That is corruption and that is what we have now with the Bush-Delay-Cheney government.
