I just got my daughter's letterman jacket today- OUCH, those are expensive! 155 for the jacket- and 10.00 for the year she graduates on the shoulder (10.00 for the numbers, but 20.00 to sew it on with embroidery), 20.00 for her name on the back, 8.00 for the band's name to be embroidered on the front, and 12 for her name on the left front over where her letter will go. Ouch ouch ouch. But it hurts so good :-) I told her I didn't get any piece of clothing that expensive until I was 16, and my mom bought be my first fur coat. I will be so proud to see her wear her jacket.

Got a natural high going on right now. Although my mom has passed on, I feel her spirit lives on in the gifts she has given to us- including the gifts of music she gave my kids. I think I mentioned how involved she was in their music- she always loved to give them instruments or lessons for their birthdays. I remember how the kids would give her concerts in person, or over the phone. It's a great thing to see my kids flourishing in their music, and to think of my mom. My mom and I did not always get along when I was younger, but I felt when she died, as I sat with her, that we had a true and unqualified love for each other. I hope my children feel that for me when I die. It is a good thing to feel at peace with the dying, and to love them without reservation. That is a great inheritance.
