I see the situations as very different
So do I. But that was not the question.
The question was the existence of parallels. And no amount of pointing at the differences is helping you divert attention from that fact.
The rest of your post is about how Arabs don't like Jews. Well, too bad. But that is not the point, is it?
The point is that Israel is currently oppressing Palestinians, making it impossible for them to pursue their own lives. Nazi Germany oppressed Jews and made it impossible for them to pursue their own lives. That is a very unfortunate parallel between the two situations that stands ALTHOUGH the Nazi oppression was different from the Israeli one (they went the whole hog and killed Jews in large numbers, rather than the small numbers in which Israel is killing Palestinians) and Palestinian resistance is different than the Jewish one (Palestinians are resorting to terrorism, while Jews didn't care to organize to resist the holocaust they were going through).
Yes, you are right, there are differences. However, there are also similarities. It is very sad, in my humble opinion, that a race so inhumanly discriminated in its own recent history can bring itself to so inhumanly oppress, humiliate, control, and even kill another nation. But it is happening in front of our eyes.
And "But Arabs hate Jews!" is not even relevant to this subject, for it is no excuse. Or "But Palestinians are blowing up Jewish cafes!" is confusing cause and effect.
The fact is that there is an occupation and daily oppression going on. |
