Scott; In the 70's he was a circuit level designer and software writer(some), in the intervening time he has become completely isolated from those aspects that made Apple what it was from parts to powerhouse. When I heard of Next I knew it was doomed, it was also criticised by most knowledgeable people. Only the insertion of money and the Japanese desire to not lose face made it last as long as it did. It never made a penny, and never had any hope of doing so.
When I see that he wants to close down cloning, I see doom all over again. When he is interviewed he pontificates over past glory and wants to go that road again, you can't, it was a one time road, and closed proprietary systems are doomed in todays open arena.
