7:50AM Applied Micro acquires 3ware for $150 million by Mark Cotton
NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Applied Micro Circuits (AMCC) said it is acquiring 3ware, a data storage company, for $150 million in cash. Applied Micro said the acquisition will be be non-dilutive to earnings in its June quarter, when the deal is expected to be completed. The San-Diego-based maker of silicon networking solutions expects to record certain acquisition-related charges, but has yet to determine the size of the charges, and in which quarter they will booked. Shares of Applied Micro Circuits were up 17 cents, or 2.63 percent at $6.64 at the close of trading Monday.
