"Red neck" in my town means someone who isn't prepared to kiss the ass of every Ottawa-funded special interest group; someone who knows racism and bigotry when they see it, and recognizes that that's not the same as some PO'd NGO leech calling you names.

No offence intended, but it seems to me that if Canadian voters are content to let their perceptions of politicians and parties be shaped by the Toronto Star and Frank magazine and This Hour Has 22 Minutes, then we've already got the government we deserve.
