Re: As did the ancestors of Ray and Mary. Nothing wrong with that motivation. I can't speak for Mary's forbears, but my grandparents all came to America as legal immigrants. I believe that we were discussing the problem with open borders and illegal immigrants gaming the system. To you, there may be no distinction to be made, as I'm sure is the case with lots of advocates of unlimited invasion, er, immigration. However, I'm old-fashioned and can clearly see that the economic conditions of 1904 in America bear scant resemblance to the realities of 2004. :)
