Hi Bill,
The talking heads just need some reason for market action to talk about. Most of what I see is just plain old profit taking. Interest rates at their level make miniscule difference in profits and demand.
Historicly the first few interest rate increases have no effect on the market. In fact, you are suppose to buy the first interest rate increase. (Which may be far in the future.) There is no pressure on the Fed as long as the dollar is not in free fall.
It appears to me the market is forming or continuing a sideways trading range. What are your elves telling you?
