Wonder what would happen if Soros decided to put up a Billion to beat Bush? He could do it.

I don't know anything about election finance laws, but it seems that it would be a good news/bad news thing for Kerry. Why? The good news--money trouble might be over. As you sagely pointed out, Kerry is is deep trouble financially. I don't know how he will deal with the problem, but a billion from Soros can't hurt even though Kerry would not be able to control the message Soros puts out.

The bad news is what I call the Daddy Warbucks scenario: how does Kerry deal with the political fallout from Soros bankrolling an anti-Bush campaign evenif he does not specifically finance Kerry? That there would be fallout is clear.
