It's my opinion that had Aristide left on his own decision he would have packed a significant amount of the national treasury into the departing plane. It's standard practice to bring your retirement pension along when fleeing a coup. The fact that he didn't is strong evidence that the 20 combat ready marines hustled him out, not assisted him out.
