I double checked the date of the article, sometimes the news algorithm fails, but not this time.

One explanation is that sun is talking the talk, but not walking the walk. They are just saying they like linux to subvert and head off the erosions. Which of course is what they have been doing for three years.

Another cumulative thought, is that Sun is correct, this is NOT a migration to Linux, this is a migration AWAY from the bundled expensive Sun servers.

Third, this has nothing directly to do with Linux on the desktop, this is an article about servers.

I am sure the common wisdom is that companies are wary of Sun supplying linux destops that are tied to the Solaris server software, that are tied to the Sun servers. If this is the likely case, that is not so hot for AMD, vortex-wise.
