I find the organization in Outlook to be rather good, with the exception of the lack of "New Mail" propagation through the folder hierarchy.

In Outlook Express you can create message rules to automatically move new messages to a specified folder. Such as To or From "such and such" move to a certain folder. Works well for me to keep Yahoo Groups messages from clogging my Inbox. Yahoo Groups messages from a particular group are all sent to the same To field, so it is easy to create a rule to move messages for each Group to its own folder.

Perhaps Outlook has the same feature.
