Actually, Phillips has been cursed by the moneyed class since about 1989 when he wrote the prelude to "Wealth and Democracy" and started to suggest that the Republican Party had lost its soul and was becoming a malignant tool of plutocracy. That didn't sit well with the plutocrats for some reason. :)
