First, it's nice to hear that you admit the the country was not directly threatened by Iraq.

Again, you left out this part:

"Bush arguably has committed the greatest strategic blunder in modern memory. To put it bluntly, he attacked the wrong target."

So the communism / terrorism analogy is invalid. Unless you have evidence that the writer didn't believe we were directly threatened by communism. Do you have that evidence?

The writer (Secretary of the Navy under Republican President Ronald Reagan, a little more credibility than you have) is consistent, you are not.
