I appreciate your writing so seriously and earnestly to me about this, Sidney. I have to say that I still don't know whether the OT is considered "Scriptures" by Christian fundamentalists, or what the status of the many barbaric-seeming exhortations and rules and stories offered is, to these believers. What is the answer to the serious question that lies underneath the funny compilation of rules about marriage? Is the OT just a quaint antique whose instructions are not to be taken seriously, unlike the NT? Is the OT not considered "the Scriptures"?
