This is a very bullish indicator - the railroads are doing gangbuster business:

Automation has been so successful that BNSF finds itself in a bit of a jam, with a shortage of workers. After years of cutbacks, NSF plans to hire 1,600 employees this year and 1,000 more in each of the next five years.

A big driver of this business is trade with China.
