Flat fee FOMA 3G data DoCoMo announced that they are planning to offer flat-rate 3G/FOMA data service plans sometime this summer. This is quite a change to the prevalent business model for mobile communications, and it means that DoCoMo is driving the move away from telecom-type thinking (i.e. a per-minute/per-megabyte-style business model. Sooner or later (in my experience, in about 3-4 years) this trend will also move to Europe and US. It also means that the business models for DoCoMo will become more complex, they'll need to add functionality and penetration.
