The point was whether they were lying or not.

Those groups and individuals said, in effect, Iraq may have weapons and it would be prudent to find out. They may have thought the odds were pretty good that there were weapons in Iraq, but again, the collective wisdom was to look.

Bush said, in effect, there absolutly - positively - as God is my witness ARE WEAPONS in Iraq and he is going to use them to blow up american cities within the next few months.

That was the lie.
The others just expressed reasonable caution.

The the real fool in the Aristide affair is the marine commander who didn't frisk the Haitian leader for cell phones before kidnapping him.
