China blocks foreign software use in gov't

A new policy by China's governing body will rule that all ministries buy only locally-produced software at the next upgrade cycle.

This situation with China reminds me of someone I used to know who was a former CEO of Atari. He hated the first Bush administration (and Reagan) because he felt that the Asian tigers were allowed to dump on the US consumer electronics market, successfully destroying a number of US industries like TVs while US govt policies dismissed it as comparative advantage. Meanwhile the asian markets were closed.
