Speaking of chasing technology...

Tonight I spent some time trying to sort out who might
be the leaders for Digital Television (DTV) now that HDTV
looks like it is going to give way to multibroadcast. I went
through quite a few of the C-Cube posts, visited corporate
web sites to see what products are being hyped, I even
checked out our local station's web site to see if they had
any DTV or HDTV plans. The most interesing thing I found out
is that Microsoft, Compaq, and Intel are in on some DTV team
together, to apparently influence the direction this thing
goes. I could find no easy leads on small start up companies
in this area for investing.

Maybe somebody out there will have some ideas?
Surely the way we interact with television will be very
different 20 years from now (although now that I think
about it, it sure has not changed in the last 20...hmmm).
Which companies will be there at the end of the digital
interactive race?
