DEAD SOLDIER REPORT

laura,

The "official" figure of dead American soldiers killed in action is 550.

What the Pentagon is doing to cheat is to not count the suicides, not count those who die after they arrive at Ramstein AFB or Walter Reed Hospital, and be very vague of deaths by accident, friendly fire or disease.

So, all told, I suspect the number of deaths in theater or because of involvement in Iraq stands at something between 700 to 800.

OTOH, the number injured, returned to the U.S. as unfit due to PTSD, etc. is more than 11,000 to date.
