you owe your members an explanation, at the very least, as to why the "hate American Spirit" thread is allowed to exist under the SI TOUs.
Here's the thread title: "Just the Facts, Ma'am: A Compendium of American Spirit's Fic". At that point the character limit was reached, though the header goes on to use the full updated title: Just the Facts, Ma'am: A Compendium of American Spirit's and Lizzie Tudor's Fiction
The word "hate" isn't in there. It's about truth and facts versus fiction. The meat of political debate. AS has a habit of saying things which aren't true. He's also made some predictions which did turn out to be accurate, such as predicting that John Kerry would be the nominee even when he was doing poorly. But along the way, he said a number of things which were directly at odds with the truth. He does it so often that it became a running joke, deserving of its own thread. Lizzie does it less often, but was added to the thread by the thread moderator at some point because of some similar factually challenged statements.
If your idea of debate is to exclude the response "that's not true" from the lexicon of all participants, then I guess all that's left to say is "That's true", "I agree", or "I disagree" (but without being able to explain that the reason you disagree is because the other person said something factually incorrect).
The SI TOU's wisely do not say that you must refrain from observing that posts and posters have a habit of inaccuracy.
