Hmaly, RE: My comment (The USA is after stability of the region due to the need for oil.) Your comment (Which is absolutely true. The converse isn't true, that the US doesn't give a damn about the lives of millions of Israeli citizens. We care about both.)

I think it's more accurate to say USA is after stability of the region due to the need for oil.

But I do agree with you that the converse isn't necessary true, some care, some don't.

Re: "What kind of statement is that? Can you prove, the US knew at the time, the extent of the killing that was going on, and or, the US had the ability to stop it."

Yes, the government did know the extent of the murders, but took no action.

There are three branches of our government. I believe it was the Judicial branch that sued another branch (forgot which of the two), about the USA knowing the extent of the killing while doing nothing to stop it. This is all in writing so there's no question about it. It's a commonly known item that's taught in our schools. Maybe it wasn't so commonly taught years ago.

The USA's approach isn't too surprising, when you consider the USA's approach with some of the genocides in Africa.

Amy J
