Baby monks think differently than old monks who are at the end of their days reflecting on their lives. I don't think what I heard in discussions and was said to me, was something that these old monkeys would have agreed with when they were young seminarians. These were their late-in-life revelations, but let me say, there was no final consensus. Imo, the stupid monks saw things the way most people do, and the thoughtful more intelligent ones were those that questioned whether they picked celibacy first before deciding to be priests.
