our failing eyesight

Just happened to have my annual visit with the ophthalmologist yesterday. After my eyes-of-an-eagle for 50 years began to require bifocals during the past decade, at 61 my prescription now has been unchanged for three years. Nice to have an occasional landing on the down staircase, as well as the stimulating challenge of spelling "ophthalmologist".

Have I mentioned my first-ever colonoscopy in December? Nevermind, except to encourage everyone to have one. I was fortunate to get an all-clear, but a friend my age, who also had his first exam in December, had a large polyp discovered and removed surgically. It was precancerous but if left unattended, might have turned to cancer eventually. So, the colonoscopy is an important preventative that amounts to a few hours of "prep" and an exam done with mild anesthesia. If I start writing about the "prep", shoot me.
