Party boy, the purpose and intent of removing Saddam from his barbaric rule was many fold not the least of which was for USA to obtain control over the Iraqi oil fields and be able to use them to apply pressure where it would do the most USA good in bargining with France, Europe, Russia...
he, Saddam and his unpredictability posed a "clear and present danger" to the Middle East and our interests there...
Sunni, Shiite, Kurds, Christian......who cares, a civil war of some sort of some scale is inevitable, it will happen, it is why we did not continue on into Baghdad in 1991 during Desert Storm, fear of the unknown filling of a power vacuum....like in Iran maybe??? scarry thought then, even more so now...eh.
As long as American interests are served, the homeland secure, and we continue to improve our intelligence and weapons testing then all is well, nes pas....
