LOL -- keep looking. Do your remember what the first Japanese cars looked like? They were tiny little bittie tin cans that made the VW beetle look like a limo. We laughed at them -- but we did not get to laugh for long. In technology, the days of "maintenance" and low level tech support are fast fading for India and China, and they are dead-set on taking the lead. How fast can this happen? A lot faster than you seem to think. US education -- the jewel in our economic and social crown, is taking a back seat to the most wasteful of all projects -- war. The deficits we are running make it progressively harder to operate a national system of high quality universities -- we are a nation in decline, not because it is inevitable but because we did not know what we should value most, and we neglected it.
