HOUSTON, Mar 05, 2004 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- A former
topless dancer who stabbed her husband to death in Houston is facing 25 years in
prison.

A jury sentenced Susan Wright Thursday a day after convicting her of murder for
tying her husband, Jeffrey, to a bed in their home last year and then stabbing
him 193 times before burying him in the backyard, the Houston Chronicle
reported.

Prosecutors argued Wright lured her 34-year-old husband into their bedroom and
then stabbed him so she could collect on his $200,000 life insurance policy. She
claimed she killed her abusive, drug-using husband in self-defense.

A controversial courtroom re-enactment of the murder on a blood-stained bed may
be Wright's best chance of getting the conviction overturned, legal experts told
the Chronicle.

Wright's attorney repeatedly objected to the re-enactment and said after the
trial it would be a key point in his appeal.
