Hey, how'd I get into this early morning Chuck and Charley debate--lol?
As to your comment:
>>>...but that is a generational thing and I think it may come about in 20 or 30 years, we need to deal with terrorism now in a point blank fashion as GW is doing...<<<
Again, you've hit the nail on the head: "generational thing."
There was almost a 10-year lag from when the Twin Towers got hit a second time. But, now, you're already pronouncing America secure. It's not!
In fact, because of Bush's action I believe we're more likely to get hit again!
The perspective of time for a long-repressed and persecuted Muslim community is quite different than how we Americans perceive time. Our attention span is soundbyte-oriented; their's is not.
Yes, our enemies will use time, the time of generations to recruit. Much though both of us would like--there is no quick military fix to this kind of problem. If you believe there is, well then I submit you're wrong. And I fear time will prove me right.
It really is a test of time. And on this, we haven't even begun anything that resembles healing in our relationships with the Muslim world. You see, whether we recognize it or not, they've got David, not Golith, on their side--as they see it! |
