I pretty much believe the fix was in regarding how they (the media) brought Dean down. I don't think it had anything to do with Al Gore. I think the media wanted a Kerry-Bush match-up, which is what they got.

There's no other explanation for why all major televised media kept replaying Dean's post-Iowa speech, calling it a scream speech when it was not. Television used a unit-directional microphone to make Dean's speech seem louder than it was and became relentless. It's sort of like using a wide-angle camera lens on a candidate having a bad hair day--lol!
