It feels to me like there's a lot of market-timing "noise" (I first used the word bullshit) going on right now. That is, most people on this thread and elsewhere (for example, Carl Johnson over at Infrastructure which I subscribe to) feel that there is a tremendous amount of upside left in the sector that hasn't been priced into the stocks yet. So if I'm a fund manager with extra cash, do I plow it back into the sector now? Well, that depends. If others are start to do so, I better or miss the next substantial up-leg, which may commence by the April earnings announcements anyway. However, if others still sell the sector, I'd be better off to wait and enter at a lower point. And what other macro-news event might spook the market with a big downdraft (for example, and all-out civil war in Iraq or anything else that will send oil prices further into the stratosphere)?
